He is Our Strong Tower…

strongtower 2Are you feeling burdened?  Sometimes, when I am struggling, and can’t put my finger on exactly why my thoughts are running away from me, I realize, I am running away from something…  there may be a decision I need to make, a phone call lingering over my head,  something from the past that is bringing up feelings of sadness or regret, or maybe a feeling of fear covered up by anxiety..

Uggg!

If you are feeling, or have felt like this, the one thing I have learned is this..

That is the exact moment to turn our thoughts over to our Heavenly Father who loves and understands us more than words can even express..

We are made from His cloth, and He smiles over us with gladness when we turn to Him with what we are really feeling.  He is our strong tower, and  our refuge…(Psalm 31) Let us run to him, let the walls fall down, and give him our heart!

“I prayed to the Lord, and he answered me, freeing me from all of my fears.  Those who look to him for help will be radiant with joy, no shadow of shame will darken their faces…” Psalm 34:4-5

Praying over your day, Sweet Friend, that you will be freed of any fears or thoughts that  are burdening your heart,  and that you will be able to take a minute to be in His presence  letting Him  be your refuge… your strong tower! Psalm 31

Lord, thank you that I do not have to do life alone… that I can call on you, and you are my rock.  How amazed I am at your love and goodness to me… resting in your care, and praising your precious name…

His Loving Kindness…

a cool breeze“..Be kind and compassionate to one another..” Eph 4:32

Words of love are so refreshing, aren’t they?  I “liken” them to a cool breeze on a hot summer’s day….When that gentle breeze blows, I find myself  breathing a deep sigh of relief, and for just a sweet moment, sigh… all is well :)

Just like that gentle breeze, kindness and compassion will calm a heated moment. When emotions are running high, and anger, control, or fear start to grip your thoughts,I am praying for you to let that gentle breeze of God’s loving kindness wash over your weary heart.  That in your  heated moment, you will be able to breathe in God’s gentleness…. as you sense His  presence drawing you to Himself, giving you a new perspective of His love, and freeing your heart to respond with tenderness and compassion.

 And just like that cool gentle breeze, on a hot summer’s day, when His loving kindness and compassion washes over us, it is most definitely unexpected, and most definitely sooo refreshing!

Praying you will be refreshed by His kindness and compassion.  He loves you, sweet friend, and is fighting for you.

Dont Give up! Prayer is all you Need….

“Love is all you need..”

As I was listening to this song, I thought, that’s sooo true!  and then my next thought was.. and prayer!  So the next time you hear this song, I pray you will be reminded of how much God loves you, protects you, and wants you to draw near… He will always hear the cry of your heart, and will always answer you, as the Psalm says…

“To the Lord I cry aloud, and He answers me from His holy hill..”

Psalm 3:4 

Praying you will go before Him today, and let Him in your heart and thoughts… He is the only one who truly knows what you should do, trust Him with all of your heart ..

“Trust in the Lord with all of your heart and lean not on your own understanding.  In all of your ways acknowledge Him, and He will make your path straight..”

Be encouraged!

These words can be such a treasure, if we can take a minute to let the words penetrate our thoughts, I know our hearts will find comfort, and our minds will find rest.

“Let God have you, and let God love you… don’t be surprised if your heart begins to hear music you’ve never heard, and your feet learn to dance as never before…”

Dear Heavenly Father,

How I thank you for constantly reaching out to me..

Help me to trust in you with all of my heart, as I surrender my thoughts, anxiety, fears and decisions over to you. Will you please quiet my mind, help me to stop the reasoning, running, and overwhelming feeling to react, and in place of my thoughts, will  you  pierce my heart  with your peace that transcends all understanding…. I need your calming presence, thank you, Heavenly Father..

In Jesus Name,

May you breathe in His stillness, and rest in His care…

Sun-Children-heartNo matter what is going on today,

God wants you to draw near.

To trust Him right where you are. In the good, bad or just plain ugly, God’s tenderness will meet you there!  It is so very easy to  think we need to change first, get rid of a habit, be a better person, be a better Christian,  or even start going to church.. etc..etc..   Oh, sweet friend, that is sooo not true! 

He hears you when you call, when

you cry out, when you can only  give a whisper of help…

“My heart has heard you say, “Come and talk with me” And my heart responds, “Lord, I am coming. Do not hide yourself from me…do not reject me….” Psalm 27:7-14

Let this be our prayer today…

Heavenly Father… I come before you, needing you, needing your comfort, hope…clarity of mind. I want to surrender my heart… Please hear my cry, and draw me into your presence that I may know you better…(.”The Lord is close to the brokenhearted and saves those who are crushed in spirit..” Ps 34:18)

Read John 3:16-17

He is on your side….

Love does not delight in evil, but rejoices with the truth, it always protects, always hopes, always perseveres. Love never fails…

(1Corin13:4-8)

When I compare my heart to these words, I am saddened to say, that on my own I am

definitely NOT patient,

I have been unkind, envied, I have totally boasted about my victories, been prideful to a fault, I can be rude, self-seeking, angry, and recall wrongs until it makes my heart sick… I have secretly felt relief in someone else’s failure, not protected when I wished I would have, not been able to trust, given up hope, and have fallen to point of not wanting to get up… and then I met God…

God is love… (1John 4:8)

God is patient with us, He is kind, not envious, (he wants to see us succeed) He never boasts, He is not proud, He is never rude, He is never self-seeking, He is not easily angered,and He keeps no record of wrongs. He does not delight in evil, but He rejoices with the truth, He always protects, always trusts, always hopes, and

Always perseveres..

These words give me hope…. God is good, He is beautiful. He is all of the things we deep down know we may struggle with, but most of the time ignore, or don’t want to admit, yet, if we are honest with ourselves, we know how easily

we may see the bad in others….

Dear Heavenly Father,

Thank you so much for this glimpse of your lovingkindness to each of us. That you are patient, not easily angered, that you want the best for us, you always protect, always trust, and always, always give hope! May the good you see in us, little by little, and day by day become the beacon that drives us to want to know you better….How we need goodness, hope and light. We give you our day, Lord, may we know that you are near
