As I opened my sliding glass door this morning, to let my dog , Slayer, ( Nice name, right?!..Ugg..kids :)  Anyway, as I slid open the door to let him out to go potty, I couldn’t help but notice  a dove sitting on the back wall.. it was a strange place for him to be sitting.  He was perched on the wall, looking directly into our tree… As I got closer I saw her.  This new mama to be has her sweet little nest all tucked away in the branches of our sisso tree.   She’s beautiful, and so very vulnerable.

But ….

 there he was, her protector… watching over her!

“..I was overcome by trouble and sorrow. Then I called on the name of the Lord ; Oh Lord, save me.  The Lord is gracious and righteous. Our God is full of compassion.  The Lord protects the simple-hearted; when I was in great need He saved me..”

Psalm 116:3

Just like that sweet little daddy dove, our God is looking over us..

Watching, guiding and protecting.  You are that valuable to Him.

Dear, Heavenly Father, I really love You.  I pray for Your wisdom and strength to know You are always near… always watching over me; and always ready to reach down and grab my hand.. Thank You for Your loving protection, even when I don’t know You are there. Your compassion is always so refreshing. Help me to breathe a sigh of relief, as I enjoy this new day.. Loving others, embracing my life, and living in your wondrous hope.

You are so good..
