Keeping my eyes on my Heavenly Father.

I have to admit, though, sometimes, it can be a lot easier for me to bleed hope and comfort into others, then to myself…

I can easily forget that God sees the good in me too..

He sees the whole picture, and knows the exact moment when, and why our hearts are bleeding…

So…

Dear One…

Be good to yourself…

Let God’s love and gentleness touch you… especially when you feel you don’t deserve it..

That’s what love does…

Love let’s you breathe…

“…. love is kind… Love does not delight in evil, but rejoices with the truth…”

1 Corinthians 13:4 (Full scripture 1 Corinthians 13: 3-7)

When you feel you have failed, let God in the middle of the circumstance, let Him walk a with you, talk with him,  and examine what happened…

Let Him touch the hard places, soften your heart, and heal the hurt…

He will unveil the darkness, and shine His beauty…  He will cover you in grace…and wrap you with tenderness…

And isn’t that always the purpose in our trials…

Being closer to Him..

Learning to trust His love, and cling to His heart…

“For the word of the Lord holds true, and everything he does is worthy of our trust.

He loves whatever is just and good, and His unfailing love fills the earth.”

1 Corinthians 8: 4-5

Be good to your heart…

God is holding it :)

Before the Heavens were made.  God knew you… He choose you.

“For you created my inmost being; you knit me together in my mothers womb.  Thank You for making me so wonderfully complex!  Your workmanship is marvelous how well I know that full well.,”

Psalm 139: 13-14

He chose you to be love.  To be light.  To shine of all that He is….

You are loved… and made perfect in God’s eyes…

Just as you are…

You were ransomed and saved…

Made beautiful and whole…

Trust in His goodness.  Trust in His grace.  Seek His love in everything…

And He will be your guiding light…

Love.  Laughter… Peace, and kindness…

Joy. Hope… Gratitude and thanksgiving…

These are a few of my favorite things.

In the midst of a storm perspective is everything.

Learning to find joy when we want to hide, is a season of trust…

God has not left you…Maybe God is showing Himself in the little things we take for granted.

The morning sunrise… The smell of fresh coffee.  A child’s laughter… The air that we breathe, a warm shower… A sweet song of worship.. The floor beneath our knees, when we bend to pray… The home that surrounds us with warmth and comfort…The pages of our Bible’s that are warn and soft…  The love of God’s comfort that surrounds our hearts…

Leaning to find joy in the simplest of ways is always God’s hand…

Learning to depend on Him, when we want to run, is the quickest way to see His goodness…

And maybe… just maybe that is the purpose in the swirling storm…

To find our calm in the middle of the noise… to sit on bended  knee, and rejoice in His will…

To live in the very moment of who He is, and the greatness of His hand…

“Come near to God and He will come near to you.  Wash your hands, you sinners, and purify your hearts, for your loyalty is divided between God and the world…”

James 4:8

How powerful is that?

To stop striving… and planing…and rushing, and pushing…

To stop.  To live. To learn to love….

He wants your attention…

He wants your heart.

If even for a moment… Let it go, and Let Him in…

“The Lord is my light and my salvation.  So why should I be afraid.

The Lord protects me from danger, so why should I tremble…….

The one thing I ask of the Lord – the thing I seek most – is to live in the house of the

Lord all the days of my life delighting in the Lord’s perfections and meditating in His

Temple.

For He will conceal me there when troubles come; He will hide me in His sanctuary.

He will place me out of reach on a high rock….”

Psalm 27  (paraphrased… Read the whole psalm in your Bible :)

Letting His word penetrate your whole heart… will change your whole life.

He will show you love and laughter…

Hope and change.

“The Lord is God shining upon us….You are my God, and I will praise you; 

You are my God, and I will exalt you…”

Psalm 118:28

His word is the only way to find peace in the midst of the storm.

He will not let you run… He will not let you hide…

Sit in His great presence…

And let love live…

I was thinking about this last night and this morning…

Sometimes prayer seems like this huge void… we’re looking… waiting… and  there isn’t an answer, and we’ve prayed for so long, and so expectantly… it may even seem

hopeless…

As I was praying, and asking God for understanding, wisdom, and even how to pray about the things that are tugging at my heart…  it hit me…

That’s it…

Understanding through God’s eyes…

Wisdom…

And asking God what would You have me pray…

Lord,

How I come before You this new day, thankful for all the goodness You have so graciously shown me…

I come before You to be still…

to set aside my requests, and to seek Your understanding… to see things through Your eyes…

Open the eyes of my heart, Lord, I want to see You…

I pray for wisdom,

The wisdom to give me the strength and determination to trust You even when Your answer seems to be “No, don’t pray this way…”

How I pray for the wisdom;  to pray for the direction, You are taking my heart… growing me… and challenging me to understand…

I pray my heart would be in alignment with Your will over my thoughts… not my life.  But my thoughts…

May each thought be brought into Your presence, examined, and replaced with what is true… What is right… and what is good, and praiseworthy…

“Finally, brothers and sisters, whatever is true, whatever is noble, whatever is right, whatever is pure, whatever is lovely, whatever is admirable if anything is excellent or praiseworthy — think about such things.”

Philippians 4:8

May peace rule my heart, and may love be my guide…

I am relying on Your direction, Dear Jesus, I am relying on Your love.

Change me from the inside out.

I want to be close to You more than anything else on this earth…

Oh, Lord, May the chaos fade away, as I choose to rely on You… and You alone…

“So, I pray that God, who gives you hope, will keep you happy and full of peace as you believe in Him.

May you overflow with hope through the power of the Holy Spirit.

I am fully convinced, dear friends, that you are full of goodness…”

Romans 15:13-14

He hears you in your distress.

Rest in His love… He has filled you with His goodness.  With His love… and most importantly His Holy Spirit is alive in you and guiding you into all that is true.  All that is right, and good and praiseworthy…

Let Your heart and mind go there…

Know that He when you ask Him for His peace, He will always give you what is best…

Like a red, or pink starburst :)  Cause  that’s how He rolls…

He will always give us what our souls crave…

More of Him, and less of me…
