The Aroma of His Love…

woman who poured perfume on jesus feet“A certain immoral woman heard He was there and brought a beautiful jar filled with expensive perfume.

Then she knelt behind Him, at His feet, weeping.  Her tears fell on His feet, and she whipped them off with her hair.  Then she kept kissing His feet and putting perfume on them…”

Luke 7:37-38

How I love everything about her heart…

She pursued Jesus with everything she had to offer… Herself. And her treasured perfume…

The love… hope  and forgiveness Jesus exuded far outweighed the humiliation she knew she surely would be facing in this room filled with men and Pharisees …

She needed Him.

He was there for her!

“Then He turned to the woman and said to Simon, “Look at this woman kneeling here.  When I entered your home you didn’t offer me water to wash the dust from my feet, but she has washed them with her tears and wiped them with her hair.

You didn’t give me a kiss of greeting, but she has kissed my feet again and again from the time I first came in.  You neglected the courtesy of olive oil to anoint my head, but she has anointed my feet with rare perfume.  I tell you, her sins and they are many, have been forgiven.  So she has shown me much love.  But a person who is forgiven little shows only little love.

Then Jesus said to the woman, “Your sins are forgiven.”

.. then Jesus said to the woman, “Your faith has saved you; go in peace..”

Luke 7:50

Dear Heavenly Father, thank You for being my biggest fan and lover of my soul.  I stand in awe of Your great forgiveness over my life, and thank You for opening my eyes and giving me the strength to seek Your face…

I love this picture so much…

She poured her tears, and perfume from the depths of her broken heart… she needed You.

From the depths of my broken heart, I need You.  I need your forgiveness.  Your love.  And most of all Your salvation and redemption running though my veins..

Thank You for forgiving my brokenness… the sin that wants to tear me away from you.

Thank You that I can lay all of who I am at Your feet, and be cleansed white as snow.

Help me to live in love today…

Walking in Your aroma of love, and cleansed by the blood of Your grace.

You are my God…

How beautiful is that…

I love You,

In Jesus name, I pray,

Amen

Live in Love,

Lisa
