After the angel, Gabriel, left Mary, the Bible says she got ready and rushed
to go see her relative, Elizabeth…
Can you imagine her emotions…
Her excitement…
Her Hope…
Was she scared?
“At that time Mary got ready and hurried to a town in the hill country of Judea, where she entered Zechariah’s home and greeted Elizabeth.
When Elizabeth heard Mary’s greeting, the baby leaped in her womb , and
Elizabeth was filled with the Holy Spirit.
In a loud voice she exclaimed:
“Blessed are you among women, and blessed is the child you will bear!
But why am I so favored, that the other of the my Lord should come to me?
As soon as the sound of your greeting reached my ears, the baby in my womb leaped for joy.
Blessed is she who has believed that what the Lord has said to her will be accomplished!”
Luke 1:39-45
How sweet is this relationship between Mary and Elizabeth…
We don’t know if Elizabeth was Mary’s sister, cousin, aunt, or even sister in law. We only know that they are related, and their love for each other was pure…
sweet and kind…
I can just see Elizabeth holding Mary so tightly…Looking into her gentle, kind eyes, and pouring so much love… so much assurance into her heart…
“Blessed is she who has believed that what the Lord has said to her will b accomplished!”
Elizabeth’s words of love and pure joy must have comforted Mary’s dear heart so much…..
She was not alone on this journey…
Their love for God, and each other, bonded their hearts and encouraged truth to pour forth…
Mary broke out in a beautiful song to her God..
Her King…
Her Everything…
Oh Lord,
My God, My King my Everything…
My soul is deeply touched at the beauty of Your works..
The love you of the Holy Spirit,
so pure in our lives…
No jealousy, no pride…
No room for hardness or fear.
Father, may my soul …
my heart, and my thoughts be filled with more truth…
As I read these words about Mary and Elizabeth, I sense a passion deep within my spirit being awakened… and filled with hope…strength and security…
You are God…
Why do we fear?
“For nothing is impossible with God…”
Luke 1:37
May our lives be filled with more of Your Spirit…
More readily aware of the goodness You pour into our hearts…
May we be thankful, and full of joy for those God has sewn into our lives…
Those who celebrate and reassure us of God’s love, and purpose on our journeys…
May we not be afraid to reach out and encourage each other…to watch the
miracle of God’s love unfold in those kindred hearts God has drawn into
our lives…
I love You Jesus…
In Your Name,
I pray,
Amen
Live in Love,
Lisa
