Loving people can be complicated …
People who rub us the wrong way, push our buttons, or stir jealousy in our hearts can take
us off track if we don’t take a quick minute to let God’s love conquer our emotions…
Love is our calling…
He has provided within us all the fruits of His own heart…
“But the Holy Spirit produces this kind of fruit in our lives; love, joy, peace, patience,
kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness, and self-control…”
Galatians 5:22-23
When we can take in a breath of fresh air, and call on God for a quick sip of patience…
He will fill our hearts with what is true…and we will begin to see in that other person what
God sees…
What is true is love fills my heart with gentleness,
and gentleness eases my pride and helps me to come along someone that maybe I
thought I just couldn’t…
In that moment of surrender, I see God working through me…
….. not me trying to work through God…
(that feeling is all kinds of awkward! haha)
And that is always a miracle of love…
The more we see our calling for those whose hearts are far from God, the more we
understand why those who sometimes strain our souls come across our path…
We might only be in their lives for a moment…
I pray I would make that moment count.
Dear Heavenly Father,
I love You…
Forgive me for the times I just don’t want to love…
Thank You for reminding me I don’t have to rely on myself…
That in those moments You will take over, the second I call Your name…
Thank You for growing me…
Thank You for trusting us with Your love and touch…
This surrender thing can be super unsettling…
But oh so good!
Help me to sip in those moments of peace…
I want to let You love through me, and not the other way around…
Your love is our calling…
The more I trust You and let go of my way…
The more I see the miracle of Your tenderness drawing hurting people to Your heart, the
more I am beginning to understand how much more these words mean…
“More of You Jesus… Less of me…”
We are Your vessels…
“We now have this light shinning in our hearts, but we ourselves are like fragile clay jars
containing this great treasure.
This makes it clear that our great power is from God, not from ourselves.”
2 Corinthians 4:7
Thank You Jesus for surrounding me with people who shined of Your love…
Their lives drew me into Your presence while I was still very far from You, and yet when I
was drawn they didn’t turn their back on me, and I’m sure that wasn’t easy…! Hahaha
Thank You for reminding me of How miraculous Your love is…
You are patient and kind…
Not pushy or judgy…
Your love conquers the worst in us…
May our lives be way more about You…
Way less about religion… fear and judgement.
Your love is King…
In Jesus Name,
I pray,
Amen
Live in Love,
Lisa
