As you start to look at the new year, I pray you dream more,  hope more….  love more and live more….

Life happens in the quiet and still moments…

Love happens in the choices we make to give of our hearts…

Life will always be messy…

Things will never be perfect while were still here on earth…  So live big, and love bigger

Go easy on your soul…

Have way more fun…

And trust God’s mercies every day…

“Love bears all things, believes all things, hopes all things, endures all things,

God gives us strength.  This too shall pass.

He fills us with courage. Believe  in His goodness…

He covers us with hope, and walks with us through every twist and turn…

Live in joy, be thankful for the little things… Don’t judge others.  Always smile first… and most importantly… Give your heart to God…  for your Father in Heaven has great plans to prosper and not to harm you…

Dear Jesus,

“For God so loved the world He gave His one and only son that who ever believes in Him shall not perish but have eternal life.”

John 3:16

I remember the day I read these words for the first time, like it was yesterday.

I was never really interested in God, and I definitely wasn’t down for religion…

1st:  I thought God was some far away, untouchable being…and very judgmental. I didn’t like to think about Him… I guess He scared me, and I knew I wasn’t anywhere close to someone He would let come near… ( But in my mind… how rude! lol)

2nd: I never understood who Jesus was… Were God and Jesus the the same guy?

3rd: Heaven seemed way too confusing… Why would God send anyone to a place called hell, when He had the way of Heaven?   Why was God so dark, mean and judgmental, and why would a God that I had heard so called, “Christians” talk about,  not care about everyone?

NO THANKS…

But that day, a friend who was far from perfect,  seemed different… She always had a glow in her heart no matter what she was going through.. . (and at that time she was going through something horrible!)  Told me she had hope…

She believed in God… and God was her hope…

It was simply put… and her words somehow eased my own heart…

She asked me if I had a Bible, and when I said I think so… She told me to open it to

John 3:16

She told me to just close my eyes and pray… to ask God if He’s real, would he come into my heart and cleanse me with new eyes and a new heart, that I might see Him, and know Him..

It wasn’t that I thought I was this horrible person, cause that wasn’t it… it was that my heart felt hard … a little dark, and love wasn’t a word I truly understood…

I went home, found that old Bible… opened it…

I still remember the sound of the thin pages crinkling as I searched for John 3:16

I read each word carefully, slowly like 10 times, I truly wanted to understand …

When I got to the end of John 3:16… the next verse said…

“For God did not send His Son into the world to condemn the world, but to save the world through him”

John 3:17

What???? God sent His son… so that’s who Jesus was. And God wanted to save the world??? Whattt??

I deeply wanted to know more…

So I very awkwardly got on my knees by the side of my bed… and asked God if he were real? I told Him I needed this hope… that I was sorry for so many things, that my heart felt empty… sad…  and if He wold come into my heart that would be great…

I met God for the very first time that day!  I learned quickly that religion plays no part in God’s heart…

He was all about a personal relationship.  He wants to invade our hearts with His unconditional hope… love and forgiveness … He softens and cleanses… He gives us life abundant, and fills our deepest desires with love overflowing…

Religion is about that church or denomination…

God is about His people… He sent Jesus to break through the barriers of the pharisees  and their religious customs…

The Bible is chalked full of amazing stories of God’s love cutting through the darkness of religion and the politics of life…

God is for us…

If you don’t know Him, I pray you would give Him a chance…

The thrill of hope will forever change You…

The glorious picture of Heaven’s grace…

The beauty of God’s sweet embrace.

Keep your eyes toward heaven..

That is our hope…

God is our refuge…

Cast your cares onto Him… and today, when you hear a bird sing, look towards the heavens and know He is near…

When we put a little love in our heart, the people around us get blanketed in kindness, refreshed by goodness…

Isn’t that what life should be about?

People helping people…

Hope flowing freely…

Acts of kindness and mercy change us… soften us.

Dear Father,

Thank You for this holiday season…

Thank You that You open our eyes to more of who you are…

How I praise Your Heavenly Name, that You gave us this hope in Jesus, that transcends all understanding…

By letting Your great love in, we take our eyes off of ourselves, and put our trust in You…

You have our tomorrows, our yesterdays, and our right nows…

May my day, my life, and my heart be a reflection of Your unconditional love… your great patience… kindness and mercies overflowing…

Thank You for Christmas…

Thank You for Jesus.

Thank You for not letting us slip through the cracks… You caught me when I was falling….

You have changed my life and I am so very grateful…

May we be a reflection of all that You have shown us…

Love, forgiveness, hope, and pure joy…

Best gift EVER…

The holidays can stir up so many  crazy emotions…

Joy, because we know the Father…

Sadness, because we miss loved ones,  or aren’t where we thought we would be,

Failure, because we aren’t who we think we should be..

Hope, because we believe in His mercies never ending…

Loneliness, heart break … the list goes on and on doesn’t it!

On those days where you feel like you are falling apart… your mind is running a muck, and your heart feels weary…

This promise is for you!

He left you peace of mind and heart…

You are not losing it, you are finding HIM…

We have to tap into the truth, and stop the loop running in our minds…

We are right where we are supposed to be… We are whole. Loved.  And our lives have meaning just as we are… Just where we are.

He knows YOU…

He totally sees YOU…

He loves YOU.

His promises are alive… They are for You…  They are not words, or clever sayings…

They have power.

Today.  Right at this moment.

I pray you  deeply breath in His peace..

Feel His goodness still your mind…  and fill your heart.

You matter.

He is using your life to help others… He is filling you to overflow with the sweet aroma of all that He is…

Trust Him.  Trust the process…

And thank Him for the best gift ever…

His peace!
